Spreading Creativity & Collaboration

Creativity is what makes the world go ’round. And don’t just take our word for it – look around you: Everything around us is a product of creative minds thinking differently, challenging the norm, taking risks and learning from trial and error. Everything we do can be a creative act.

Creativity is also a vital ingredient in problem solving. For this reason, World Creativity & Innovation Day (WCID) was founded in 2001. In 2006, WCID became a weeklong celebration, beginning on Leonard da Vinci’s birthday, April 15.

Today, World Creativity & Innovation Day and Week (WCIW) is observed by the United Nations which promotes creativity and innovation as key elements in achieving the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In 2022, there were over 500 WCIW celebrations in 127 countries—the highest ever. The WCIW theme in 2022 was Collaboration.

“For the past three years, the team of Haggerty & Haggerty Digital Services has planned and participated in World Creativity & Innovation Week celebrations.”

For the past three years, the team of Haggerty & Haggerty Digital Services has planned and participated in World Creativity & Innovation Week celebrations, creating digital, graphic and video assets for the celebrations as well as speaking at and planning celebrations. This year, Holly Haggerty, who is on the WCIW International Advisory Board, worked with the Florida Academy of Collaborative Professionals as well as the International Association of Collaborative Professionals to plan virtual and live events around the world.

Haggerty Digital personally sponsored two events that week.

The first was a Collaborative Painting Demonstration and Class held as My Favorite Art Place. Over 30 people attended and learned the special art of intuitive painting. You can see the painting class here.

Our second event was done in conjunction with World Creativity & Innovation Week, Creativity & Collaboration—a panel of collaborative experts from three sectors: education, family law and government. The panel was moderated by Holly Haggerty and included Dr. Jim Friedman, a professor of creativity and entrepreneurship at Miami University OH and the Chief Steward of World Creativity & Innovation Week; Robert Merlin, Esq. President of the Florida Academy of Collaborative Professionals (FACP) and a Board Member and Treasurer of the International Association of Collaborative Professionals (IACP); and Javier Bikandi, Director of Citizen Services and Digital Services of the Basque Country which promotes collaborative and open government. You can see the panel discussion here.

“Here at Haggerty Digital, we are passionate about using creativity to market and promote our clients AND to make the world a better place.”
